Estimated Costs for New LibraryTo meet the future needs of the area, we must build a library with a minimum square footage of 7,400. The cost to build a building of this size is estimated at between $814,000 and $888,000 without a basement. A partial basement for storage is something that should be considered. The study done by Library Planning Consultants identified which of the current equipment can be used in the new library and which should be replaced. The estimated cost for equipment additions was between $53,500 and $56,500. The Town of Beaverlodge is already committed to providing the land needed for the new library as its portion of the project. As can be seen, a new library will cost from $868,000 to at least $944,500. We have started fund raising for the new library and will be applying for all applicable grants. We will be approaching corporations for their assistance. But for all this to come across, we have to have the support of the people of the area. Your support of our fund raising and your membership in the Friends of the Library show that we are committed to this project.
